Hey everyone,
Sorry I’ve been a little slow getting this post up but I wanted to share a few pictures from the Ozzy/Slash show at the Sprint Center
Overall it was great show! Slash tore it up with Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge once again handling the vocals and Ozzy sounded really good. I’ll be honest, the last couple of times I’ve seen Ozzy it seemed like he was struggling a little bit but he came out strong this time around and sounded good. We also got to see his new guitar player, Gus G, for the first time….and I think probably the last time. I think Gus is probably one and done. Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely no doubt that the guy can play, no arugument there, and I hear that he’s huge in Europe (then again, so is David Hasslehoff) I just didn’t really sense that much chemistry with this line up. The best thing Ozzy can do at this point is to bring Zakk back into the fold because that is where the chemistry is. Will those two re-unite in the near future? I’m not sure but its happened before….remember Joe Holmes?? Yeah, me either…..

Thanks, once again, for reading my blog that accompanies my “Weekly Rock Wind Up” vlog.
Since I closed out my vlog with info about upcoming music and who’s doing what I figured that would be a great place to start.
-The Boss, Bruce Springstein, is set to guest on Dropkick Murphy’s forthcoming album “Going Out In Style”. Right now the album is set to release on February 28th.
-Eagles founder Don Henley is working on an album of country covers. Word on the street is a lot of country heavy hitters will show up and it’s his first solo recording since “Inside Job” in 2000.
-Korn being influenced by Soundgarden on their follow up to “Korn III: Remember Who You Are”? James “Munky” Shaffer, said recently, “We’re definitely moving forward, we’ll probably start recording in April to try and fine tune this sound we’re developing”.
-Slash and Billy Corgan contribute to Cherie Currie’s new album, which is being produced by Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum. For those NOT in the know, Currie was the teenage lead vocalist of the all girl group The Runaways.
-Even though rumors had stated Judas Priest are pretty much through, it seems as if they still have a little left in the tank. According to guitarist Glenn Tipton’s official web site a fair well world tour will be beginning this summer and “to put everyone’s mind at rest, this is by no means the end of the band. In fact, we are presently writing new material, but we do intend this to be the last major world tour”.
-And other noteable notes about bands working on new stuff;
Aerosmith, KISS and Van Halen. As all this info unfolds, I’ll keep you in the loop!
-John Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, is allowing 150 of Lennon’s personal letters to be published in a single volume. As of now the expected release date will be October of this year, which is the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ hit release “Love Me Do”.
-Rush drummer, Neil Peart, will put out his fifth book “Far And Away: A Prize Every Time” on May 1st. (A$$hole Bob’s ecstatic!)
Thanks again for giving me a minute of your time.

It… Seems… A… One… William Shatner… Has… Laid… Down… Tracks… With… Zakk!
Tweeting recently, “Just watched tracks being laid down by Zakk Wylde of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY for my upcoming record ‘Seeking Major Tom’.” He added, “Zakk is one of the great guitarists who played with Ozzy Osbourne. A master playing a cover of ‘Iron Man’. He’s fantastic! I’m energized.”
Rumor has it Shitner’s Shatner’s album will have 20 tracks on it and should be available, for target practice, later this year.
