I honestly don’t even know where to begin…I am absolutely speechless!  I and everyone at the station cannot thank everybody enough for such an incredible event yesterday!  Rockfest has grown beyond any of our wildest imaginations, hopes or dreams and yesterday was once again truly humbling.  You ARE the best listeners in the world and that’s not just hype…we can back it up with what was witnessed yesterday!!  The word “Thanks” just doesn’t seem to be enough but thank you so much to EVERYONE involved with Rockfest.  Those of you who bought/won tickets, the ground and stage crews who helped us build “Rockfest City”, the bands and their crews, the photographers, security, all the vendors and sponosors, the fireworks crew, the city and the Liberty Memorial for allowing us to use the space (and if you’ve never been to the WWI museum inside the Libery Memorial, I highly encourage you to take the time and check it out…it is definitely something to see!!)…the day and the event could not have been more perfect and I don’t know how to say thank you to all involved enough.  Its because of you and you alone that we do what we do and why Rockfest has become the phenom that is has become!  We are all truly blessed to have you as our listeners and more importantly as a part of our family!!  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!  Let’s do it again next year!!!!

Hey guys,

Just a quick word about the actual grounds for Rockfest…..I was out setting some things up today and I can tell you right now that it is going to be AWESOME!!  One thing I’ll say about Bob is that he takes notes every year about what can be improved upon and the event just keeps getting better and better.  You guys are going to have an amazing day AND the weather is going to be perfect!!  Thanks again to all of you for helping make Rockfest what it is.  We’ll see you out there!!  Cheers!

Wow, it is hard to believe that we are just days away from Rockfest.
Talked to The Bob this morning all the equipment and stage was delivered yesterdayand the build is on as I sit here and type this.
I know that it is in advance of the show but I would like to take a second to thank you.
Rockfest has grown so much since the humble beginnings out at Smithville.
To think we are now 50,000 plus strong just blows me away.
We cant do this without you!
Most importantly thank you for watching out for your fellow rockers.
I cant tell you how many times last year I saw someone bite it while crowd surfing and everyone stopped to help them up.
Or the people who were getting sunscreen out for a stranger who was turning into a lobster.
You are the best K.C.
Thank you so much for making this the highlight of my year!
See you Saturday!

Hello all!  By now I’m sure you’re aware that the biggest, most bad-ass show of the summer is THIS weekend!  Rockfest has become the largest one day music festival in America thanks to you!  That being said, I know that Rockfest sold out in only 10 days (which surprised the hell out of us too…again thanks to you, that was awesome!!) and I know a lot of people were waiting for that next paycheck to buy some tickets but didn’t get the chance.  So, I thought I’d fill you in on some opportunities we have for you get your hands on a pair.

Of course, you can always win them on-air by being the 9th caller at the right time…nothing you don’t already know, I’m sure, and we’ll have LOTS of chances.  BUT, we will also be out and about the next couple of days with more chances!!  Paul will be out TONIGHT (Wednesday) from 8p-10p at Howl At The Moon down at Power & Light.  We’ll have the Rock Ambulance out in Belton from 5p-6p tomorrow (Thursday) at MTS Auto Mall.  And, Moose will have some tickets tomorrow (Thursday) from 7p-9p at Fuel off of 119th in Overland Park.  Also, don’t forget that hotel packages are STILL available at 989therock.com!!  This is a great chance to pick up tickets to the show, official Rockfest t-shirts AND get a great hotel room at the Hyatt which is nice and convenient to the grounds!

So there you go!  We would like to see all of you out at Rockfest and hopefully this helps everyone looking for tickets get their hands on some.  F*@k the scalpers!!  We’re going to give you every opportunity we can.  Good luck and we’ll see you Saturday for Rockfest 2009!!!!!!!
